So you're the new MemCo, huh? Don't stress too much, this is gonna be fun! This page will give you a basic guide on how to manage your responsibilities. If you haven't already, go through the Training Plan with the previous MemCo.

Before they get away, make sure the previous MemCo (or current @Librarian) gives you access to the following:
Application Process
Keep in touch with applicants throughout their entire process. You'll have to check the [email protected] email frequently. Use email templates as a guide, but review and update the wording depending on the specific needs of each applicant. Use the Application Steps board to guide you.
- When an application is submitted, automatic notifications are sent to Slack (to notify HAUS membership) and the membership email group, which includes [email protected]
- Respond to emails from advertisements and applications promptly
- Create a new member page and use the template to guide you through the process
- Schedule dinners with at least 24 hours notice and notify the house via Slack
- Guide dinner conversation to ensure the applicant is the focus, give a tour of open rooms, and escort applicant while they are in the house. This can be delegated to a Shepherd. If they're new to Houston, send them the link to the HAUS recommendations page (it's a read-only page to the public)
- Send follow-up emails within 24 hours after each dinner
- Send information for how to make a deposit
- Follow blackball and greyball policy
- Send background check
- Send an email confirming if their application was accepted or not
